I have no kids… but this time of year certainly satisfies my maternal instincts. We’ve had an avalanche of babies and the cuteness factor is off the charts.
This is what I found (not unexpected) at 6 AM yesterday morning.
The mother is a bit of a mish-mash – Angus & Hereford crossed with a Jersey & Milking Shorthorn. The father was a Texas Longhorn. Needless to say, with that pedigree, we had no idea what the calf would look like. She turned out alright in my book – a lovely little heifer calf.
Excuse me while I succumb in transports of delight…

Maggie and Glenn,
Thanks for posting photos of the babies. We are excited and can’t wait for more! Julia loves seeing them.
Hugs,
Kathleen
