On the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…
Eight bantam puffballs
Seven sheep a grazin’
Six summer squash
Fiiiiiiiiiive Pekin ducks
Four mooing cows
Three newborn bucklings
Two little pigs
And farm in the country!

Anyone not in the know would be saying “how cute!”…those fuzzy puffballs soon turn into ugly ducklings and then into voracious stealth ninja’s fully intent on deforesting entire gardens in a single dustbath…I know…we have a population of stealth ninja’s ourselves…we just managed to locate the last feral clucky out in the shrubs on our 4 acres and heft her over the new enclosure where we are minimising our dustbowl here in Tasmanias North and maximising our chances of being able to get ANYTHING TO GROW! We have 2 plymouth rocks and both of them are trouble! Well done on getting Costa’s patronage by the way (how much is he charging?
)
Oh believe me – those naughty little cluckys scratched up 500 newly planted onion seedlings this spring in the time it took me to zip in the house for a spot of lunch, the rotten ninjas! And I’ll be honest, I had no idea Costa had included me on his “Friends of Costa” page until you mentioned it – what an honor!
